About Our Shellfish:

Hama HamaŽ oysters and clams are farmed at the mouth of Washington State's Hamma Hamma River, at the intersection of fresh water and salt, on gravelly beaches created over centuries by winter floods. At lowest tide, the flats extend almost a mile into Hood Canal, a salt-water fjord that forms the eastern boundary of the Olympic Peninsula. The oysters grow slowly in this environment, often taking twice as long to reach marketable size as oysters grown by other farms. The result: spectacular oysters with a distinctively clean, crisp flavor and firm meat.

Formerly available only in fine restaurants and gourmet stores, Hama Hama oysters and clams can now be purchased directly from the farm and shipped anywhere in the United States. We are also offering our oysters smoked and pickled, as well as our own smoked salmon, all produced in small batches on location at Hama Hama Farm.

About Our Company:

Started in 1922 by Daniel Robbins, the Hama Hama Company began selling oysters and clams in the mid 1950s. Still owned and operated by the Robbins Family, the company currently sells christmas trees, grass-fed beef and sustainably-harvested timber, in addition to shellfish, from its location along the eastern slopes of the Olympic Mountains. In a region characterized by high unemployment and tourist-industry jobs, Hama Hama provides stable employment and benefits to all its full-time employees--managers and oyster pickers alike. We're proud of our company and of the products we sell, and we hope that you are happy with your purchase. Thank you.
