Archeologists, excavating ancient shell middens, have determined that historically people preferred large oysters. Our own observations confirm this: mediums, the biggest shucked oyster we sell, remain extremely popular with local old-timers. Maybe it's just that the old-timers are smarter than everybody else, and know a great deal when they see one.
